RESIZING YOUR IMAGE FOR ENTRY
 TO PREPARE IMAGES FOR ONLINE ENTRY PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: 

• Make a copy of your original photo to apply the resizing criteria. 

Image Format Requirement
If your image is less than 8MB in size, you can submit it as is. Your images will automatically be resized to constraints necessary for the organization.

To Resize a image larger than 8MB:
• Set image resolution first to 300 ppi. 
• Then size to 1,280 pixels on the longest side with the other side, width or height, proportional. A smaller size may result in an image too small for the judges to properly view. 
• JPG, TIF or PNG formats only

PROGRAMS TO USE FOR PHOTO EDITING AND RESIZING IMAGES
All of the Adobe Photo Editing programs (Photoshop, Lightroom and Elements) provide photo resizing features.  Other downloadable software choices are GIMP or Picasa3. You can do a google search to find tutorials to help you. Be sure to include the operating system you will be using when you search. 

Don’t want to download software? That is not a problem, there are some great websites out there that allow you to resize your photos for free.
